Why are protein powders useful for a balanced diet?

Proteins, like carbohydrates and fats, are an important part of our diet. In this article, I want to explain what proteins are, why we need them, and why vegan protein sources are so important.

Protein is an essential nutrient for the human body. Protein, also known as albumen, consists of amino acids, of which there are 21 in total. Of these, 9 are essential, meaning they cannot be produced by the body and must be obtained through diet. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to which proteins are present in food. The body needs protein for building and maintaining muscle mass, which is probably the best-known function of the nutrient. However, protein also plays an extremely important role in the formation of hormones and enzymes and is significant for the immune system, wound healing, and metabolism.

Protein Requirements

Between 0.8-1.0 grams of protein should be consumed per kilogram of body weight. However, this value strongly depends on gender, physical activity, physique, and age and should only serve as a guideline. This amount of protein should also be consumed throughout the day. The easiest way is to integrate proteins into every meal.

Which foods contain protein

Animal products contain all amino acids in sufficient quantities – however, not all essential amino acids are present in plant-based foods. Therefore, when following a plant-based diet, care should be taken to consume various protein sources. A variety of grains, nuts, legumes, seeds, kernels, tofu, tempeh, and soy helps meet daily protein and amino acid needs.

Why protein powder

It can happen that not enough protein is consumed through diet. The consequences of protein deficiency include fatigue, hair loss, sleep disturbances, susceptibility to infection, and more. To prevent protein deficiency, it can be useful to incorporate protein powder and protein-rich foods into your daily routine.

Why my plant-based protein powders

My organic vegan proteins consist of natural ingredients, contain no sweeteners, and are purely plant-based. The oils are pressed from the seeds and kernels, leaving a small amount of healthy fatty acids, fiber, and plenty of protein. The organic protein powders contain, depending on the variety, 35-65 grams of protein per 100 grams. Unlike other protein powders, they are free of additives and naturally contain omega fatty acids and fiber. All protein powders are 100% organic, gluten-free, lactose-free, and vegan.

Each protein powder has its own special properties:
Organic Sunflower Protein Powder: This protein powder is neutral in taste and is perfect for refining porridges, mueslis, and baked goods. It contains 53% protein and 23% fiber. In addition, sunflower seeds are rich in vitamin E and B vitamins.

Organic Pumpkin Seed Protein Powder: This protein powder is a plant-based protein powerhouse with 65% protein. It has a slightly nutty taste and, like the other organic protein powders, provides a lot of fiber. Thanks to its high protein content, it is suitable for making dough for vegan burger patties, for protein baked goods, and shakes. The powder has a natural green color, which looks great especially in baked goods! Pumpkin seeds are rich in magnesium, zinc, and vitamin E, which are very important for health.

Organic Cacao Protein Powder: The Organic Cacao Protein Powder consists of a blend of various plant-based protein powders and cocoa powder. With 50% protein and 24% fiber, this protein powder provides a good mix of amino acids. It contains a significant amount of essential amino acids such as lysine, histidine, and methionine. This protein powder is perfect for chocolatey baked goods, pancakes, porridges, etc. This protein powder is also great for shakes.

Organic Vanilla Protein Powder: The Organic Vanilla Protein also consists of a blend of plant-based proteins such as sunflower and pea protein and contains 60% protein. For the vanilla flavor, it contains natural vanilla. The vanilla protein powder is extra finely ground and dissolves perfectly in shakes. But this protein powder is also great for baking.

Organic Flaxseed Protein Powder: This protein powder is versatile and offers good value for money: I like to use it not only as a protein powder, but also as an egg substitute and as low-carb flour. It contains 35% protein and an excellent 39% fiber. The Organic Flaxseed Protein Powder promotes intestinal activity and health. Flaxseeds contain more omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids than any other plant-based food, and in a good ratio.

The organic protein powders are not only natural and healthy, but also CO2-neutral produced in Austria.

The organic protein powders not only provide protein, but also healthy fiber and fatty acids. They are 100% natural and unsweetened. Mix them into pancakes, porridge, baked goods, etc., or take them as a shake. This way, you should definitely get a sufficient amount of all essential amino acids and feel better in your body!
