Vegan taurine
contains 1000 mg of taurine per daily serving

Taurine is a sulfur-containing aminosulfonic acid that is structurally similar to amino acids, but is not a classic amino acid in the biochemical sense. The difference lies in the chemical structure: taurine contains a sulfonic acid group instead of the typical carboxyl group. The chemical name is 2-aminoethanesulfonic acid.

Taurine is partly produced by the body itself - mainly from the sulfur-containing amino acids L-cysteine and L-methionine. At the same time, it can be ingested through food. Therefore, taurine is considered a so-called semi-essential compound - substances that the body can produce to a limited extent, but whose needs are also met through diet depending on the situation.

Taurine is naturally found in animal foods such as meat, fish, seafood, eggs, and dairy products. Plant-based foods, on the other hand, contain less taurine.

The name taurine is derived from the Greek taurus (bull), as the substance was first isolated from ox bile in the 19th century. Today, taurine is produced industrially. For my Mrs Flury supplements, we have our taurine produced in Germany from purely vegan production and without animal raw materials - in the usual high quality.
